Located on the site of the historic "Yuma Crossing",
an area rich in history and the lore of the past,
Rivers Edge
RV Resort is just minutes away from downtown Yuma
Arizona. Rivers Edge RV Resort is situated on
the bank of the Colorado River with almost one mile
of shoreline and sits on the borders of California
and Arizona just off Interstate 8.
Yuma is fast approaching cosmopolitan status with an
estimated population of just over 200,000 full time
residents.
You will find shopping for every need at the
Yuma
Palms Regional Shopping Center with over 490,000
square feet of specialty stores along with chain
restaurants reminiscent of your home town.
Local Tex/Mex dining is excellent as well.
The area surrounding the
Resort abounds with activities, attractions and
nostalgic reminders of the Arizona territorial
days
circa
1863-1912. You will want to visit the historic
Yuma Territorial Prison which once housed many of
Arizona's most dangerous criminals
from 1876-1909. Other attractions include:
United States Army Quartermaster Depot,
Century House Museum, and the Custom House all located in downtown Yuma. Just west of the
Resort, in the California Desert, you will find the
"Great American Sahara", a vast expanse of sand dunes
where famous western themed movies
(The 3:10 to Yuma starring Glen Ford) (Rio Bravo
starring John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson,
Angie Dickinson and Walter Brennan)
have been
filmed and today visitors from Southern California tackle
the great expanses of sand with ATV's and Sand Rails. Sometimes
from Interstate 8, you can see
the original
"wooden"
plank road to San Diego built in 1916.
Enjoy "games of chance" or
the "ding-ding" of the slot? Several
Yuma Casinos are only a short distance
from the Resort.
We
are a short drive to the California / Mexico border
and the town of
Los Algodones. Many of our seasonal
visitors
find quality discounted dental and vision
services readily available. Not only is there
the normal offering of authentic
local dining and
souvenirs as you stroll the
streets of this quiet border town, there are also
numerous Pharmacies with knowledgeable staff to help
you fill your prescriptions at a savings from what
you would pay
at home. With secured parking, safe and clean, it is a must go for lunch,
shopping and savings in dental, vision or pharmacy needs. |
